The "Tilapia del Sol" enterprise, dedicated to the production of sustainable tilapia in Coatepeque, achieved a new milestone by receiving the legal documents officially establishing it as the "Civil Association for the Integral Development of El Refugio," along with the appointment of its legal representative.

The formation of this association opens the door to formally expanding the marketing of its products, strengthening its capacities, and diversifying its development opportunities. It will also allow for the promotion of new productive initiatives and the establishment of strategic alliances that will boost its growth.

This venture was promoted by Fundación HAME with financial support from the Migrant Voices for Change project of the Avina Foundation and the Swedish International Cooperation Agency. It represents an alternative to irregular migration, generating local roots and development.

This step marks a milestone in the consolidation of "Tilapia del Sol" as an example of a sustainable and collaborative enterprise that paves the way for new opportunities for the community.
