We promote financial education for women in rural areas

Through the Mujeres Ahorradoras program, part of our Inclusión Socioeconómica line, we promote the culture of savings and financial education, strengthening responsible management and the organizational capacities of women for proper financial decision-making. With this initiative we contribute to the empowerment of hundreds of women for a more prosperous future for themselves, their families and rural communities. Currently there are 15 savings groups made up of 2,000 women from Alta Verapaz and Petén.

We believe in the transformative power of education and training

At the Fundación HAME, through our Innovación para el Desarrollo line, we implement the beekeeping production program, which consists of providing training and technical assistance for the management of hives, harvesting and marketing of honey. With this program, families in the rural communities where we are strategic allies acquire a new entrepreneurial opportunity.

We are allies for civic and political training in the areas where we operate

Through our Social Leadership line, we have implemented the Responsible Citizenship project, aimed at community leaders, youth, women, and parent organizations in the areas where Grupo HAME operates. This program arises as a support to strengthen civic education within the formal education system. The diploma is taught in communities in Petén, Suchitepéquez, and southern Quetzaltenango.

We help people become the protagonists of their own development

Through our Socioeconomic Inclusion line, we implement the Productive Entrepreneurship project, an initiative that provides training and capacity building in activities such as cocoa cultivation, pig farm management, and hammock making. With these projects, we want to transform lives and create a lasting impact in communities.

We promote technical education for people at risk of migration

The My First Job project is an initiative of our Socioeconomic Inclusion line that promotes technical education and job placement for people at risk of migration or returned migrants. Our purpose is to provide a second chance to those who need it most. The training programs teach welding, electromechanics and electricity.

We promote local development and strengthen the social fabric

The Pan del Campo project, part of our Socioeconomic Inclusion line, is an alternative that promotes local development and strengthens the social fabric, offering options to combat irregular migration. This initiative is especially important in Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango, where many inhabitants migrate to Mexico and the United States.

We promote the socioeconomic inclusion of populations at risk of migration

In Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango, we promote the Tilapia Production project, part of our Socioeconomic Inclusion line for populations at risk of migration. With this, the Fundación HAME demostrates that with effort and vision it is possible to cultivate a prosperous future from the very roots of the community.

We worked together for the first Municipal Public Policy on Migration

Our strategic line Socioeconomic Inclusion promotes actions such as the participatory design of the first Municipal Public Policy on Migration in the municipality of Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango. We work together with the Municipality of Coatepeque to design and implement this public policy with a comprehensive approach and in the unique context of Coatepeque.

At Fundación HAME we are committed to education

My First Job is an initiative of our strategic line Socioeconomic Inclusion, working together with the Human Development area of Grupo HAME, to promote the training and certification of technical skills, in addition to offering career guidance to young people and women in vulnerable situations, aligning with the principles of ethical recruitment to facilitate their incorporation into Grupo HAME operations.

Target audience

Producers, women, youth, School-age, children and social leaders of the communities in the areas of influence of Grupo HAME.
