On July 4th, representatives from Fundación HAME visited the Coatepeque Municipality's computer lab, located in the local library, to deliver computer equipment with the goal of strengthening access to technical training in the territory.
This initiative is part of the commitment to the Municipal Public Policy for Socioeconomic Inclusion as an Alternative to Irregular Migration, promoted by the local government with the support of Fundación HAME, Fundación Avina's Migrant Voices for Change Project, and the Swedish International Cooperation Agency.
Thanks to this donation, the lab will be able to serve a greater number of people, especially those directly or indirectly affected by migration, contributing to their training.
The donation was supported by INTECAP, which provided advice to define the most appropriate specifications for the equipment. In addition, INTECAP will participate in the implementation of the courses, providing qualified instructors, and will be the institution responsible for certifying the participation of those who successfully complete the process.
The event was attended by Fundación HAME, municipal authorities, and the Mayor of Coatepeque, Alfonso García Hemmerling.
This joint effort represents another step in the creation of new training and employment opportunities as real alternatives to migration.
