Second workshop strengthens access to decent jobs for youth at risk of migration

As part of the project "Creating socioeconomic opportunities as alternatives to irregular migration in Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango," a second job guidance workshop was held, focusing on promoting training and job placement for people at risk of migration, based on the principles of ethical recruitment at Grupo HAME.

INTECAP authorities participated as facilitators, as well as representatives from Fundación HAME and the Human Development Department of Grupo HAME, who were responsible for presenting and delivering the workshop content.

On this occasion, students close to graduation from various technical careers such as electricity, gastronomy, beauty, garment manufacturing, welding, electromechanics, and mechanics were invited. They were identified as a target population with high potential to benefit from the event.

The workshop covered topics such as career aspirations, how to prepare a resume, interview techniques and tips, Grupo HAME's recruitment process, and the institutional channels through which new job openings can be obtained.

Thirty-four people participated in the event, expressing their satisfaction with the content and participatory dynamics.

This training session represents a valuable tool for the young attendees, providing them with practical and up-to-date knowledge on how to access decent jobs, with clear information about real opportunities within the local business sector.
