Building Skills to Expand Opportunities

Building Skills to Expand Opportunities

Access to technical training can make a meaningful difference in a person’s employment and economic prospects. That is why, at Fundación HAME, we work to bring learning opportunities closer to where they are needed, helping ensure that distance, cost, or local conditions do not become barriers to gaining new skills.

Our work is based on a simple idea: developing capabilities can open new possibilities for employment, entrepreneurship, and income generation. To make that possible, we promote processes that combine training, ongoing support, and partnerships with specialized institutions that bring technical education to women, young people, and others seeking new ways to increase their income or start a business.

During 2025, Fundación HAME awarded 1,254 training scholarships, 59% of which went to women. We also supported productive initiatives related to honey and cacao production, pig farming, traditional baking, welding and electrical services, among other trades that respond to demand in each community.

None of this would be possible by working alone. Partnerships with institutions, communities, and other stakeholders allow us to combine experience, resources, and knowledge to broaden the reach of our work. INTECAP, for example, was one of the organizations Fundación HAME worked with during 2025 to strengthen these opportunities.

Our goal is for more people to develop the skills they need to move forward, strengthen their economic independence, and build new alternatives from wherever they are.

Together, we are stronger.
