As part of our commitment to socioeconomic inclusion and the development of the communities we work with, we launched a new series of technical courses at different locations in Escuintla, primarily aimed at women and youth. These courses are part of "Guate es tu tierra, ¡quédate!" (Guatemala is your land, stay!) program, which seeks to generate employment alternatives to prevent irregular migration.
The courses launched include basic baking in Tiquisate, where supplies and materials were provided to 18 participants; haircutting in Palo Blanco village, Nueva Concepción; and basic motorcycle maintenance in San Juan La Noria village, also in Tiquisate. Each of these training spaces was designed to respond to the needs of the local community and facilitate self-employment and formal employment opportunities in sectors with high local demand.
With these actions, we reaffirm our commitment to capacity building, access to sustainable economic means and building a prosperous future in our country.
